Are you organic? We are not organically certified because organic certification is a rigorous process, and we're still quite new. However, we do not use pesticides or herbicides, and we plan on seeking a certification in the future.
What exactly do you sell? We sell over 150 varieties of vegetables and dozens of varieties of flowers depending on what's in season. For a list of what we've currently got, please check our weekly newsletter!
Do I have to be a CSA member to buy your stuff? For the most part. While our farm has limited items for sale to the public, the majority of our produce, flowers, and eggs are pre-sold to CSA members.
Do you sell at a farmer's market? Nope! Instead, we have our very own farm stand right on our farm. This comes with all kinds of advantages—no struggle to park, no crowds, and the freedom to take a peek at where everything is grown. You might even hear a chicken singing the "Just Laid an Egg" song if you're lucky!
Can I just swing by the farm whenever? We live and work at Hungry Dog Farm, so unless otherwise indicated, we'd prefer you come to see us during farm stand hours (3 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays starting on June 19) or that you place an order with us and schedule a time to come pick up.
Do you sell flowers for events? Yes! Contact us to inquire about event flowers. Even if we can't do all the arranging for a large event ourselves (we don't have fancy florist equipment), we can source our flowers to a local florist who can do the arranging for you.

How/when do I sign up? Space is limited, so signing up in advance is a good idea! You can let us know you're ready to sign up at any time preceding a season to reserve a spot.
How/when do I pay for my share? We accept payment at the first pickup of the season via cash or check made out to Hungry Dog Farm. You can also pay before the first pickup using any of these electronic methods:
How long is each share season? Each CSA season (Spring, Summer, and Fall) lasts eleven weeks. Shorter shares may also be available at the beginning or end of the growing year as veggies become available.
Can I pay for my share in installments? Yes! Just let us know if you'd like to do this and we can set up a payment plan that works for you.
When are CSA pickups? In 2024, CSA pickup hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, with late pickups available through Sunday in the farm fridge.
What if I miss a pickup? No worries! We offer late share pickup. Just let us know via email what you'd like and when so we can prepare your share for you. If you don't email us, we will still pack a share for you.
How much food will I get each week? You get 8-10 items each week depending on what's in season. Some weeks, if we have a surplus, you'll get freebie 2-for-1 items! An item is usually measured in quarts (potatoes, onions), pints (garlic, cherry tomatoes), or bunches (carrots, beets) depending on what it is. Some items, like cabbage, winter squash, and head lettuce, are measured by quantity. Baby lettuce is typically our only bagged item.
How many pounds of food will I get? It really depends on your selections. Weight varies a lot depending on the veggie; bunches of carrots typically weigh 2-3 pounds, while bagged lettuce is around half a pound. If you pick only root vegetables, tomatoes, and other heavy veggies, your share could end up weighing 25 pounds!
Can I choose what's in my share, or does it come prepackaged? You get to choose each week! This is one of the things that makes the HDF CSA special.
Do you include eggs and flowers in your share? You can add eggs and flowers onto your share. There are limited quantities of egg shares available, so be sure to snatch one up while they're available.
